VerifyMe SSO Reduces Fraudulent Activity

Prior to becoming managing director of Potomac Management, Washington, DC, resident Neil Alpert spent several years as president and CEO of LaserLock Technologies, a publicly traded company focusing on anti-counterfeiting technologies. Under the leadership of Neil Alpert, LaserLock was able to acquire VerifyMe, an identity verification platform.

Biometrics and identity verification play an important role in efforts to reduce the counterfeiting of American drugs and pharmaceuticals, as well as food and beverage products. VerifyMe SSO uses both overt and covert methods that are already contained within smartphone technology to confirm that an action is being performed by a legitimate user. For example, the digital cameras that are common to all smartphones can be used to verify individuals’ identities without the need for further hardware.

The ability to properly identify counterfeit items can reduce financial and property losses for individuals and businesses. The use of new technologies for identity verification makes the process even faster and easier-ensuring that identity theft and counterfeiting, which have become globally prevalent--can be combatted rapidly.

LaserLock Technologies ultimately changed its name and is currently listed on the NASDAQ as VerifyMe(NASDAQ: VRME).
